DeepL Voice Adds Mandarin Chinese, Zoom Integration Coming

Video conference on a laptop with live captions

On July 23, 2025, DeepL announced a significant update to its real-time speech translation product DeepL Voice: spoken input now includes Mandarin Chinese, Ukrainian and Romanian, translated captions cover 35 languages, and integration with Zoom Meetings is coming soon — the product already supports Microsoft Teams.

The update signals two directions. First, Chinese support: as one of the world's most spoken languages, Mandarin entering mainstream speech translation products directly covers the vast user base of "Chinese companies going global". Second, deepening platform integration: speech translation plugs into enterprise collaboration platforms like Teams and Zoom, so "meeting across languages" no longer requires procuring a dedicated tool — it's a natural extension of the meeting platform you already have.

In comparative assessments by industry analyst Slator, DeepL Voice's live translated captions earned the highest preference from expert evaluators on quality and stability — the speech translation track is moving from "usable" to "good".

For the conference interpreting profession, captioned translation inside collaboration platforms is an established reality. The anchor of professional value stays constant: captions aid comprehension, interpreters guarantee communication — captions for routine meetings, interpreters for critical ones, each layer in its place.
