RSI Platforms Enter the Platform-Integration Race: Autumn 2025 Observations

After the explosive growth of 2020–2022, the remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI) market entered a clear platform-integration phase in 2025. A standalone "virtual booth" is no longer a selling point; competition now centers on three integration capabilities: native embedding in mainstream meeting systems (Zoom, Teams, Webex), mixed output of AI live captions and human interpreting, and back-office toolchains for interpreter scheduling and quality management.
Demand is changing too. Enterprise clients no longer treat RSI as a temporary substitute for on-site meetings but procure it as standing multilingual meeting infrastructure: multilingual town-hall broadcasts, bilingual recurring team meetings, captioned webinars—all under annual framework agreements. Buying decisions have moved from event teams to joint IT-and-procurement evaluation, with security compliance (data residency, encryption, audit logs) as hard requirements.
Meanwhile, advances in AI speech translation are pushing "pure AI interpreting" into low-risk scenarios (internal training, caption-level town halls), while high-stakes settings—negotiations, medical, legal—remain firmly human or AI-plus-human-review. The market is segmenting by risk, not by technology allegiance.
Our advice: before selecting an RSI solution, grade your meeting scenarios by risk, then choose pure AI, pure human, or hybrid accordingly. A clearly tiered interpreting procurement strategy can cut total interpreting budgets by 20–40% while protecting quality where it matters.
