The on-site SI layer: with international exhibitions and high-level business travel fully recovered, on-site SI demand grows steadily. High-end conferences, board meetings and diplomatic occasions demand more of interpreters, not less — clients pay premiums for "zero risk", and senior conference interpreters' calendars stay tight. The remote interpreting layer: the mainstream choice for internal meetings, cross-border training and online roadshows; the market expands with enterprises' global operations, and pricing transparency plus service standardization are this layer's themes. The AI layer: live captions and translation devices cover long-tail scenarios — exhibitions, site visits, daily communication — turning "couldn't afford an interpreter" needs into a new market.

The layers are not zero-sum: the cross-language habits the AI layer cultivates channel some customers upward to professional services, and the remote layer's standardization educates client expectations for the on-site layer.

For interpreters, the settled structure means clearer career paths: either cultivate the high-end conference market, or become an expert provider of remote interpreting — the fuzzy positioning in between is disappearing.
