"A Single Spark Can Start a Prairie Fire" — EHOPE in Action Against COVID-19

On March 12, 2020, the World Economic Forum held "The Future of Artificial Intelligence in Financial Services" as an online webinar. EHOPE International Translation provided English translation services throughout, helping guests discuss the application and opportunities of AI in finance. Earlier, on February 25, EHOPE had also provided free online AI recognition and translation services for the WEF's "Fight the Novel Coronavirus" webinar.

The 2020 China–Namibia online COVID-19 guidance exchange took place on March 25. EHOPE provided pro bono online Chinese-English interpreting, earning unanimous praise from medical experts of both countries for its professionalism.

EHOPE also actively supported the response efforts of its client CASIC, reaching out to industry peers to help raise supplies. Donated masks and other materials arrived on March 26 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — seat of the African Union headquarters — supporting the Ethiopian government's pandemic response.

Working with Guangzhou University, EHOPE coordinated with André Cordeiro, Consul General of Portugal in Guangzhou, and Ambassador José Augusto Duarte to help deliver the university's donated anti-epidemic supplies to the University of Coimbra in Portugal — via charter flight from Beijing to Lisbon, cleared through customs and handed over successfully.

In under three months after the outbreak, EHOPE organized linguists to compile multiple prevention-and-treatment documents from Chinese experts, translating them into English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Turkish and more — sharing them at the earliest opportunity with frontline responders around the world.

As the situation in Spain and Latin America grew increasingly severe, EHOPE voluntarily produced a Spanish-language video on the correct use of masks, shared it online with Spanish-speaking audiences, and actively contacted Latin American consulates in China to promote it together.

When FIFA and the World Health Organization jointly produced an anti-pandemic video featuring stars including Messi, EHOPE proactively translated the celebrities' messages into Chinese and engaged with fans online — earning wide praise.
